Marit had her Sub Deb Club here tonight. The house was practically bursting with girls. Nine of them. There are twelve altogether but the others couldn't come. Thanks Heavens! Not, of course, that they wouldn't be welcome. The rest of the family was marooned in the kitchen. I read "Jalna" and "Mademoiselle". That is I tried to read them. About 10:00 Pop started to grumble about the girls not going home - I'm certainly glad I have meeting on Friday when he's in a good mood. The girls left shortly after and I turned on the radio to listen to Ginny Berlin Choral Society broadcast. That got him mad and we had quite an argument but I heard it. Ginny borrowed my black hat so I had to listen!!*
